The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Politecnico di Milano consists of professors and researchers involved in research activities concerning the following areas: surveying and geomatics, applied geology, applied geophysics, geotechnics, management of water resources, fluids mechanics, hydraulic engineering, hydrology, hydraulic and coastal buildings, health and environmental engineering, environmental sustainability, management of transportation networks, analysis, assessment, desig, building, maintenance and management of structures and infrastructures, mechanical behavior of materials, building science and technique, seismic engineering, diagnosis and reinforcement of historical structures.
Enhancing the transversality among the disciplines characterizing the civil and environmental engineering is one of the main aims of the Department, so that the problems of the sector can be dealt with using an integrated approach.
